Heroine hit or flop? Hit or stop status depends on how successful Barfi is in pulling the crowds. Heroine faces a strong competition from Ranbir starrer Barfi.

This film is not a typical Bollywood film with even the name giving away the clue that it is going to be all about just the heroine-Kareena! In the recent past, Vidya can be credited for making heroine-centred films like The Dirty Picture and Kahaani work. Kareena belongs to the same league of actors whose star power alone can pull a film off.If the story woven by Madhur Bhandarkar, director of the film is captivating enough, film is clearly going to be a hit. Marketing effort for the film has been successful with Halkat Jawani a chartbuster already.

Update #1: Heroine has got an opening less warm than Barfi but blame that on the fact that it has released with more prints than Barfi.Occupancy rate for the first day has been 60% which is good enough.

Update #2 Heroine has made a collection of Rs. 25 Crores in its first weekend at the box office.This is pretty good considering that the film itself is made on a modest and controlled budget, an attribute much valued of the Director Madhur Bhandarkar.If there is a consistent rise in the film’s fortune over the week, it will be fit to deem it a Hit and not flop.
