Bangladesh has mesmerized domestic fans and fans all over the bangladesh cricket teamworld with its performance in Asia Cup but really what are the reasons for good performance of Bangladesh cricket team?

As soon as an in swinging Yorker went through Shahadat Hossain and Pakistani players went up in the air celebrating their second possession of Asia Cup, there were heartbreaks all over the Bangladesh. This time Bangladesh was not alone in feeling sad about the unfortunate loss, as there were many who were waiting for an unusual scene in the Asia Cup final. It was not that usual Bangladesh making such contests looking like a cakewalk to the other side but it was a completely different side that locked horns against Pakistan. It did not happen within a week’s time or even within an year’s time. It was a long story that was in the making from the last 3 years. Reasons for why Bangladesh has developed from a team that had no guts to a team, which has defeated two world cup finalists, India and Srilanka are as follows

1. Transformation in the last 5 years: It was against India in 2007 world cup when Bangladesh defeated the now world champions and knocked them out of the world cup. That was when the transformation began. Then a win against Australia in CB Series by 5 wickets proved that it was not stroke of luck but sheer talent of the Bangla tigers.

They won against Zimbabwe in an ODI Series than defeated West Indies, white washed New Zealand in a home series, won against England in a world cup pool match. All this was an indication that a good team is developing and is getting ready for a place in the big league.

2.Hot and Cool captain: Short-gun Rahim born on 1st of September in 1988 has been the most efficient captain for Bangladesh. This player has a knack to turn tides in his favour. He has shown grace, class, temperament and loads and loads of guts. His skill of keeping calm and faith is the perfect quality of a captain in cricket. No other captain in Bangladesh has so far got that; maybe that’s why they didn’t get successful in their career. He has transformed the whole team and has made them realize their true potential and motive behind playing the game. He has also lifted the pressure of the big guns like Shakib-al- hasan and Tamim Iqbal.

3.Bangladesh Premier League: The 33 match T20 league has benefited Bangladesh not only financially but has also helped them in developing their skills. They have learnt the art of absorbing pressure, playing with big hearts, looking forward to grab their chances and most importantly it has brought consistency in them. It has enabled Bangladeshi player to win close matches. They now have control over swing of tides and they play matches according to their own potential that is necessary for any team. They have transformed into a completely different team, which makes them more threatening than ever before.

4.Consistency: It is the most important condition for achieving good cricketing team status. It can make or break any team. Bangladesh has realized this and is working hard on it. The new coach Stuart Law and his hard training sessions have proved to be right bang on target for the team. Their fielding drills and net sessions have become effective. If you notice the batting average of their star batsman, that too has improved quite gradually. Look at Tamim Iqbal’s scorecard – 253 in four matches. Shakib-al Hassan aint doing bad either with 237 runs and also he has picked up 6 wickets at crucial times in his four games. The consistency was shown in all the matches and this is what led to their good show in the Asia cup

These were the reasons for their commendable performance in the recent past. That’s all for now folks.
