A story has gone viral. The story on scroll.in says that Sagarika Ghose can no longer criticise Narendra Modi on Twitter as she has received instructions from the management of Network18 to “not to post disparaging tweets about Narendra Modi”. The story has been well-received by the ‘liberals’ on the internet. While the criticism should have been directed against Network18 for compromising with journalistic freedom, interestingly the story has encouraged Modi-bashing instead with liberals crying hoarse over how Modi’s election as PM will lead to censorship against media.
The truth of the matter is that the story is a well-written piece of fiction because Sagarika Ghose has herself clarified that she has not been intrigued by her channel managers for criticising Modi on Twitter.
@Ram_Guha Sorry to miss seeing you again!! Not being “silenced” etc, no interference at all..rumours. Stalking on SM not MSM..:)

In reply to a tweet by historian Ramachandra Guha, she has denied any interference from CNN-IBN in her twitter activities. She has said that she is stalked by the social media but not by mainstream media. So effectively the story by Stroll.in is good but if Ms. Ghose has herself denied any interference then where are your credible sources?
